Emergency Vehicle Technician (CA)
AEP Technician Overview: Perform all aspects of vehicle modifications, completely transforming the vehicles from the manufacturer’s production line condition into turnkey police, fire or other government specification service vehicles
Qualifications
-
Clear demonstration of aptitude and production levels for position hired for within 90 day probationary period.

Overtime hours will be required as production schedules dictate.
-
Off-site work (travel) will infrequently be required as production schedules dictate.
-
Pass a mandatory substance abuse screening.
-
Possess a valid driver’s license.
-
A basic through advanced understanding of 12 volt electrical systems including proven skills in harness design and troubleshooting analysis.

Strong mechanical abilities.

Ability to read, understand and follow build specifications.
-
Computer proficiency and programming of aftermarket electronics.
-
Wood and/or metal fabrication experience are a definite plus.
-
A proven record of successful team participation in addition to the ability to work independently when required.

Proficient use of all hand and power tools required for the position is a must.

Team members are required to learn quickly and adapt to a challenging and fast paced work environment. This team environment demands completion of projects within specified schedules and without defect.
Expectations

Installation of aftermarket structural components into public safety vehicles.

Integration of aftermarket electronics into public safety vehicles.
-
System design, documentation, testing and inspection of vehicles prior to delivery.

Working with wood, metal and plastic components.

Troubleshooting and repair of aftermarket components in public safety vehicles.

Janitorial tasks daily as required.
